Stress Management Programs
It’s no secret that high levels of sustained stress has a negative impact on our health. With a focus on health and wellness, we teach foundations of a healthy lifestyle: exercise, nutrition, rest, and mental and spiritual health. We delineate the different kinds of stress, examine personal stressors, and provide tools and coping mechanisms that individuals can use to assess and restructure their lives, bringing them to a happier, healthier state. And happy, healthy people make happy, healthy organizations.
Tai Chi Classes and Training
Used for wellness, relaxation and managing stress, Tai Chi is a low-impact, gentle exercise with powerful results. Because this practice is non-aerobic, it may be done in work attire – as we don’t break a sweat. The focus of the exercise is to quiet the mind, bring peace and mental clarity. However, Tai Chi does have physical benefits as well, improving range of motion, balance, core and leg strength, to name a few. Many companies are incorporating Tai Chi into their corporate wellness programs. Classes may be conducted on-site or at a Concentric affiliate location.
Relaxation and Meditation Classes and Training
Relaxation and meditation have been found to be effective methods for managing stress and improving health. Our guided relaxation and meditation classes accomplish this. Using our senses as vehicles, we tap into our mental processes and remove ourselves from unhealthy situation and thoughts. Gradually, we retrain our minds to engage in more peaceful and productive thoughts.
Care for Care-givers
Called the “Sandwich Generation”, baby boomers and now Gen-Xers, are often responsible for caring for aging parents, while they are raising their own children. This causes personal stress due to changing roles as our parents age, and also challenges in allocating our precious and limited time. Often there is a feeling of guilt that comes from not being physically able to meet all these opposing needs, and all these demands can take their toll, as the needs of care-givers often come last. We will examine what it means to be a caregiver, the effects this role has from a physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual perspective, and tools and tips to help navigate this crucial role.
